Nelson Huang is a registered liquidator with extensive experience in insolvency and corporate restructuring. David has been significantly involved in the growth of Mackay Goodwin, by working closely with a number of clients who have required restructure and turnaround solutions. He has extensive experience of pre-appointment meetings throughout Australia – where clients need to understand what the implications are for their company going into Voluntary Administration. David shows great empathy and builds trust with clients through what is an extremely stressful time.
David has a wealth of experience across receiverships, voluntary administrations and liquidations together with restructuring and turnaround engagements. Growing up in Bathurst, NSW, David’s interest in agriculture and passion for motorsport translates to his hands-on approach in the insolvency industry. Taking upon a broad range of appointments, David provides a thorough analysis of the current situations his clients are facing and provides the best possible outcome for them and other stakeholders. David’s experience allows him to draw on a broad range of prior appointments and their unique nature to facilitate the survival of a business where possible by using achievable arrangements.
Liam is a Director and ASIC Registered Liquidator at Mackay Goodwin, bringing extensive experience in insolvency and reconstruction across a range of Australian industries, including retail, hospitality, mining, manufacturing, construction, and engineering. In his role, Liam supports businesses through complex financial challenges, providing strategic guidance and solutions tailored to their needs.
Previously, Liam gained substantial experience at a mid-sized insolvency specialist with offices in Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne. He has managed numerous formal corporate insolvency assignments and informal advisory engagements, including independent business reviews, security and lending reviews, and financial investigations.
Liam is also a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ and the AIIP, contributing his expertise and professional network to support businesses facing financial challenges.
Having commenced his restructuring and insolvency journey in 2006, Marcus, a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), brings a wealth of business restructuring experience to his role as Director & Head of Client Strategy at Mackay Goodwin. His expertise encompasses senior managerial roles across Australia and the UK.
What sets Marcus apart is his “service before self” approach & his extensive experience working outside public practice accounting firms. Marcus has previously held senior managerial roles within commercial enterprises & family run businesses specialising in import/exporting, direct sales, construction, and recruitment. Such experience equips Marcus with a genuine ability to “stand in the shoes” of and relate to his clients whilst integrating best-practice turnaround strategies that align with the regulative and legislative landscape.
This unique perspective enables Marcus to quickly understand and build trust with his clients with the view of delivering financial/debt solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
